Natural bodies of water are great places to play, swim and cool off on a hot sunny day. Rivers and reservoirs in the Grand River watershed are natural water bodies that are exposed to contamination from various sources. Swimming in natural water bodies is not risk-free.
Can you swim in Guelph Lake?
Guelph Lake has two large, sandy swimming beaches: the Main Beach and the Island Beach. The beaches are not patrolled so parents or guardians must keep a close watch on their children at all times.
Can you swim at Laurel Creek?
Laurel Creek is just minutes away from Waterloo, Kitchener and Mennonite Country, making it a great home base for explorations of these communities. The park offers swimming, hiking, windsurfing and other activities. There is a sandy beach and three picnic shelters.
