France defeated Ukraine 2-0 in their Group D soccer match Friday. Goals in quick succession by midfielders Jeremy Menez, in the 53nd minute, and Yohan Cabaye, in the 56th minute, won the match, which was stopped for roughly an hour because of an electrical storm over the Donbass Arena in Donetsk.

The game had originally been suspended for 57 minutes after the referee Bjorn Kuipers took the players off five minutes into the game because of torrential rain.
