From cell phones to laptops and now the growing tablet market, it’s hard to escape the digital revolution especially with every company jumping on board. Newest in the world of tablets the Microsoft Surface is making waves and many consumers are wondering if it is the right choice for them. With the plethora of options available, it can be a little overwhelming, so to help make your life easier, a few of the Surface’s features are outline below.
Cameras
For some, the most important feature on anything—be it a phone, laptop, or tablet is the camera. If that sounds like you, then the Surface just might be for you. It has not one, but TWO cameras—one facing each way. Not only is the image quality notable, but the sound is not too shabby either—making it ideal for chatting and recording video.
Display
For me, I never really give a device’s screen specs a second thought—but for others it can be a huge deal. Possessing an ultra-wide viewing angle, the screen is 10.6″ and boasts Microsoft’s ClearType HD Display Technology. Also, the screen has an auto-adjusting feature, making it easy it see whether indoors or out.
Ports, Slots and More
Although the surface is a modest 9.33mm, it still offers necessary slots and ports. For one, there’s a spot for an SD card—so you can take pictures, movies or more with you while you are on the go. Plus, it even boasts a USB port—so printing or transferring files won’t be an issue. Gone are the days of having to “email it to yourself” to make sure you have it.
Keypad
If you’re someone who feels they are more efficient and work better when they have a fully-functioning keyboard, then you are in luck. Possessing a trackpad, the keyboard also doubles as a cover for the device. Being only 3mm in size, it’s a marvel of modern technology.
Durable Casing
For those hesitant about investing in a tablet for fear that it might be too sensitive or delicate for their fast-paced lifestyles, the Surface might be the ticket. Sporting VaporMag casing, which is material made up of metal and magnesium particles—similar to that of a watc—it is thinner than a credit card, yet durable and strong. So whether you are a student who is always on the go or a high-power executive rushing from meeting to meeting, the Surface is sure to keep up.
Kickstand
The gadget’s built-in kickstand is an exceptionally attractive feature for those who plan to use it to view movies or other multimedia things for long periods of time. Since you can prop it up, your hands will be free to do whatever else you need.
So, as you shop around for your tablet, consider these features. Great for the classroom, campus, or boardroom, the Surface is a versatile tool that can benefit many people in many stages of life. From college-bound to retirement, the Surface might just be the device for you.
