6.Lakshmi Srinivasan
Lakshmi Srinivasan, daughter of TVS Motor Chief Venu Srinivasan and Mallika Srinivasan, MD of TAFE (Amalgamation Group) has joined Sundaram Clayton as the additional director of the board of Sundaram Clayton and in-charge of strategy for five years.
The board of Sundaram Clayton constilutes senior members of the TVS family like Surehs Krishna, who is the Chairman of Sundra Fasteners, TK Balaji, who is the Chairman of Lucas TVS, K Mahes who is the CMD of Sundaram Brake Linings, Gopal Srinivasan, brother of Venu Srinivasan, who is the CEO of TVS Capital Funds, besides Lakshmi’s father Venu Srinivasan. Joining the family members, Lakshmi is the eleventh director on the board.
5.Nandini Piramal
Nandini Piramal is currently the Executive Director of Piramal Healthcare, Ltd. At the start of her career, she was associated with McKinsey & Co., as a Business Analyst where she designed and built a system to globalize sourcing for a multinational manufacturer. Ms. Primal is also involved in Primal Foundation where she directs involved in Piramal Foundation where she directs and helps implementing strategies across initiatives such as the Kaivalya Education Foundation, Source for Change and Sarvajal.
A 29-year-old graduate from Hertford College of Oxford University, with an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, she joined the firm in 2006 as a General Manager (Strategic Marketing) and has closely associated with the company’s overseas subsidiaries in US and Canada.
4.Lavanya Nalli
Lavanya Nalli, from the fifth generation of the promoter family, to be the first woman to take over the reins of the iconic 83-year-old brand. The 27-year-old Harvard Business School graduate joined the daily business in 2005. She now plans a stint with McKinsey and Co. in the US to get a fresh perpective on managing a retail business. In an interview, Nalli said she expexts the company to continue to grow faster than its competitors, but admits a shortage of weavers could emerge a challenge.
3.Roshni Nadar
Roshni Nadar is the Executive Director and the CEO of HCL Corporation. She is the only child of HCL’s founder, Shiv Nada Roshni Nadar did her graduation from the Northernwestern University majoring in radio, television and film. She also has an MBA in Social Enterprise Management and Strategy from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Prior to becoming CEO of the HCL Corp., Roshni Nadar has been serving as the trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation, which runs the non-for-profit Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering in Chennai. She had also been involved in brand building across the HCL Group. Roshni Nadar is over seeing the education initiatives of the Shiv Nadar Foundation. These initiatives include the proposed Shiv Nadar University and the VidyaGyan rural schools. It was only three years ago that she joined the Future Group, but Ashni Biyani says she has got 25 years of experience in retail. Although, 25-year-old Ashni Biyani joined the group only three years back, she claims to have an experience of 25 years in the retail business, thanks to very early introduction to the family business by her father. She says that her father ensured that she ate, slept and breathed retail ever since she was born.She has been attending the strategy sessions of the company with her father and cousins from age eight or nine. “Initially, I didn’t understand a word of what was being discussed, but started absorbing things slowly. They have become a part of me ever since,” said Ashni.
